What is Amazon Echo?

Amazon Echo is a voice command device from Amazon. It is a wireless, cloud connected speaker that responds to voice commands.

Some of the functions of Echo include question answering and playing music.

The Echo device is 9 inches tall, and has 7 microphones, a woofer and tweeter speakers, and a remote control. Echo responds to the name “Alexa”.

Amazon Echo had been under development for at least four years, and was codenamed Doppler or Project D. This is part of Amazon’s first attempt to expand its device portfolio beyond the Kindle eReader.
